Developers investigating emoji, invisible characters, and text encoding.
Free to use. Your inputs are processed in this browser and are not included in usage analytics.
How to use unicode inspector
- Paste up to 2,000 code points, including spaces or invisible characters.
- Inspect the quoted character, scalar value, UTF-8 bytes, and UTF-16 units.
What to know about the result
- Supplementary characters are one code point even when represented by two UTF-16 units; combined emoji and accents can contain multiple code points.
- Unpaired surrogates are marked and encode as the UTF-8 replacement character. This inspector does not provide Unicode character names.
