MCP Server Config Generator
Generate portable or VS Code MCP server JSON for a local stdio command or a remote HTTP endpoint.
Developers preparing a reviewable MCP client configuration without starting a server.
Free to use. Your inputs are processed in this browser and are not included in usage analytics.
How to use mcp server config generator
- Choose portable .mcp.json or the VS Code .vscode/mcp.json destination.
- Configure a stdio executable with a JSON argument array, or an HTTP URL with headers.
- Review and copy the generated JSON into the selected file; start the server from your client when ready.
What to know about the result
- Only fields for the selected transport are included; fields for the other transport are ignored. This creates configuration text only and never runs commands, opens endpoints, installs packages, or tests server availability.
- Portable configuration uses mcpServers; VS Code configuration uses servers. Review support in your intended client and keep credentials out of shared files.
