JSON Object Unflattener

Restore a JSON object from escaped JSON Pointer leaf paths and reject conflicting parent or leaf paths.

Developers rebuilding configuration objects from reversible pointer maps.

Free to use. Your inputs are processed in this browser and are not included in usage analytics.

Example: {"/user/name":"Ada","/tags":["api"]}

How to use json object unflattener

  1. Paste a JSON object whose keys are escaped JSON Pointer paths.
  2. Restore nested objects while preserving array leaf values.
  3. Review conflicts if a path is both a parent and a complete leaf.

What to know about the result

  • Processing stays in this browser. Inputs are never executed and no data is sent to an API.
  • Inputs are limited to 200,000 characters, 64 nesting levels, and 50,000 JSON values. Quote integers outside the safe integer range.
  • Root and intermediate containers are objects, including numeric-looking keys. Arrays must be supplied as complete leaf values.
  • Nonempty object leaves and conflicting paths are rejected. Keys such as __proto__ and constructor are handled as ordinary data.
