JSON to TypeScript Types

Infer a TypeScript type from JSON, retaining null values, array unions, and optional properties across differing records.

TypeScript developers drafting types from example API responses.

Free to use. Your inputs are processed in this browser and are not included in usage analytics.

Use a valid TypeScript identifier such as ApiResponse.

How to use json to typescript types

  1. Paste a representative JSON response, including varied array records.
  2. Name the exported type and infer the declaration.
  3. Review the inferred type against your actual API contract before adding it to your project.

What to know about the result

  • Processing stays in your browser. Pasted JSON is never executed.
  • Use quoted strings for integers beyond ±9,007,199,254,740,991. Inputs are limited to 200,000 characters and 64 nesting levels.
  • Missing keys across object array items become optional; explicit null remains null. Mixed array elements produce union types.
  • Empty arrays use unknown elements, and empty objects use Record<string, unknown>. Types are inferred from the sample rather than validated against a schema.
