How to use break-even calculator
- Enter the period's fixed costs, unit selling price, and unit variable cost in the same currency.
- Calculate the positive contribution and units needed to cover the fixed costs.
What to know about the result
- Contribution per unit = price − variable cost. Required units = fixed costs ÷ contribution, rounded up.
- Price must exceed variable cost; otherwise there is no finite break-even under this model. Results assume constant costs and price and are a scenario, not observed business data.
